Those images are a random selection of what was shown at my Iguapop Gallery 2006 solo show. The idea I tried to keep was to minimalize and brutalize my intervention on magazine ads. The lesser the better in search of the visual shock.
At the time, someone said about the whole fuss my anti-way of painting provoked (I quote and translate from Spanish):
[…] In addition, if that is not enough subversion, simultaneously conscious and unconscious, the way to do it may be even more seditious, if possible: to replace the white canvas with images obtained from advertisments in magazines, posters or billboards. Moreover, by using deviation, trompe l'oeil, collage, retouching and any other kind of visual roguery; to be able to transform glamour into restlessness, naiveté into intelligence and erotic seduction into winks of uneasiness. [...]
